§ Les services en protection de l’enfance sont du ressort juridique des autorités provinciales et territoriales, ce qui rend difficile toute compilation statistique au niveau national. Les variations les plus notables entre les provinces incluent la variation de mandat par juridiction concernant l’âge d’éligibilité des enfants pour recevoir des services, les différences de durée de la prise en charge à l’extérieur du domicile et la définition même de prise en charge à l’extérieur du domicile.
